About Us
We have served the Sioux Falls area since 1987, providing chiropractic care for young and old.
Our History
Our clinic began in 1987 when Dr. Gene Hagedorn opened the Hagedorn Chiropractic Center in the Clock Tower Square at 41st and Marion Road in Sioux Falls, SD. Dr. Hagedorn practiced in this location until January 1, 2002, when Dr. Rick Odland, who came to the clinic in August of 2000, took over the practice and changed the name to Hagedorn Odland Chiropractic Clinic. The clinic changed names again in 2005 – this time to Odland Chiropractic Clinic, as it is still called today. The clinic changed location in December 2007 when we moved around the corner to our current location on Marion Road. Dr. Odland currently practices full-time, Dr. Marlette joined the clinic in May 2011, and Dr. Hagedorn has retired from treating patients. Dr. Marlette acquired his acupuncture degree in July 2017.

FAQ's
-
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the science, art, and philosophy of locating and correcting vertebral subluxations through gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments thus allowing your body to function at its optimum potential. -
What is a subluxation?
Suxluxation is the misalignment of one or more of your spinal bones (vertebrae) which causes interference to your nervous systems. If your nervous system is interfered with, your body’s natural ability to heal itself and function at its optimum potential becomes impaired. A subluxation is an example of how structure affects function. -
What is an adjustment?
A gentle, specific “thrust” delivered by hand or instrument. The purpose of the adjustment is to correct your spinal subluxation(s) thus removing the nerve interference in your body. -
Does it hurt to get adjusted?
No. The bones want to be in alignment, but sometimes the surrounding muscles are sore due to inflammation. I am confident that once you begin receiving your adjustment, you will begin to look forward to them -
What conditions can chiropractic help?
Headaches, migraines, TMJ pain, whiplash, neck pain, low back pain, sciatica, disc injuries, pregnancy discomfort. -
Is chiropractic safe for children?
Absolutely. Chiropractic is just as safe for children, including newborns, as it is for adults. Common conditions chiropractic can help with are: colic, sleep issues, and bed wetting. -
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the placing of fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body. This activates the body’s Qi (pronounced “chee”) and promotes natural healing. -
What can acupuncture treat?
Acupuncture can treat a wide variety of conditions, these are just a few that it can help with: Bell’s Palsy, Allergic Rhinitis (sinus pain & pressure), Headaches and Migraines, Insomnia, Low back pain, Neck pain, Sciatica, Tennis elbow, TMJ, arthritis and Joint pain, Fibromyalgia, and Muscle pain. -
How do I know if acupuncture can help me?
Call us to set up a free consultation with Dr. Marlette to discuss your specific symptoms and answer any questions or concerns you may have. -
Is acupuncture covered by insurance?
It is becoming more common for insurance plans to cover acupuncture so check with your insurance carrier about your plan’s coverage. For those that don’t cover, we are happy to discuss our reasonable same-day rates.
